Hi Everyone,

I did Pizza last night I could not get my temp over 400 it mostly stayed around 365 to 385. I noticed when I took my plate setter and pizza stone off I hardly had any lump left. I filled it to the line did I need to fill all the way up? The Pizza was still great. Thanks a bunch

    Hi Patti:

    I find that I don't need a lot of lump for a pizza, but I do need to build the fire allowing enough air flow between the pieces of lump. Cleaning out the fire box/grate also helps.

    To the line? If you mean to the top of the fire box you should have enough lump to bake a pizza at 700 degrees dome easy. I begin with a clean egg then I build my fire;

    Fire building is fun. Good luck next time.
