Hi Everyone,
I did Pizza last night I could not get my temp over 400 it mostly stayed around 365 to 385. I noticed when I took my plate setter and pizza stone off I hardly had any lump left. I filled it to the line did I need to fill all the way up? The Pizza was still great. Thanks a bunch

Hi Patti:
I find that I don't need a lot of lump for a pizza, but I do need to build the fire allowing enough air flow between the pieces of lump. Cleaning out the fire box/grate also helps.

To the line? If you mean to the top of the fire box you should have enough lump to bake a pizza at 700 degrees dome easy. I begin with a clean egg then I build my fire;

Fire building is fun. Good luck next time. -
I was going to clean it out today if it quits raining AGAIN. To the line up the fire box. Thanks for the info and advise. Everyone is wonderful here and there is always help.
