Saturday will be the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby, the first jewel in the triple crown, the run for the roses, and the official start (for me anyways) of the racing season. I'm not sure how many Eggheads follow the ponies, so I'll guess we'll see....
Post your favorites, hot tips or just a guess. It will be fun to see who picks a winner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As of right now, 20 horses are entered, and these are the post positions.
1 West Side Bernie
2 Musket Man
3 Mr. Hot Stuff
4 Advice
5 Hold Me Back
6 Friesan Fire
7 Papa Clem
8 Mine That Bird
9 Join in the Dance
10 Regal Ransom
11 Chocolate Candy
12 General Quarters
13 I Want Revenge
14 Atomic Rain
15 Dunkirk
16 Pioneerof the Nile
17 Summer Bird
18 Nowhere to Hide
19 Desert Party
20 Flying Private
Which horses do I like? Well, I've got it down to about 8, and I want to narrow that down to 6. I do have my betting strategy.... I'm going to bet the Superfecta (picking the first 4 horses in the order of finish). My wager will be a "partial wheel" and will cover either 48 combinations or 54 combinations to win. Superfecta wagering has a $1 minimum bet in this race.
$1 Superfecta - $48
1$ Superfecta - $54
My picks are Pioneer of the Nile, Dunkirk, and Mr Hotstuff. Still trying to find an OTB here in Waldorf. May just have to find one....and have someone claim my winnings for me.
Not sure type of bet yet....
