Posting pics - a question for the computer geeks

When posting pics, does the pic simply have to reside on the server, or does it have to be on a page? I can FTP pics from home to the server I use, but don't have the webpage software at home. Usually when I post a pic, I put it on the page, then hit properties, copy the ufl and paste it into the field in the new post section. Any time I've tried to simply write it in, I've gotten it wrong...[p]QBabe

Oops...that was supposed to be "copy the url", not of those Freudian slips (or maybe too many Orange Appletini's tonight, LOL)...let your fingers do the walking, woo hoo![p]QBabe

QBabe,[p]It can just be on the server. A webpage just links images from the server anyway. All you will need is the http address of your folder on the server i.e. http:www.somewhere.comqbabe

Ok now I am doing the typo, of course you would place the correct http prefix:[p]

    <p />QBabe,
Not that I am a geek, but yes the photo just has to be on a server somewhere. Wil's now-famous photo of 20 racks of ribs is just located on my server. There are no webpages that point to it:[p]TNW

The Naked Whiz,[p]Didn't mean for the geek to be derogatory in ANY way...simply meant computer "specialist". Thanks![p]Tonia

Now, after I get a few pics of the Silver River State Park tomorrow, let's see if I can do it![p]

Boccie,[p]Thanks a bunch. We sure were sorry to have missed you and nikkig at Eggfest, but maybe next year. I hope you're feeling much better![p]Tonia

I'm having trouble with a pic I put on a couple days ago...I can see it from my home computer...others are able to see it...but I can't see it from my office computer or at my folks house...Is there something in internet options that is not set???[p]Ryan

Gatortail,[p]I haven't got a clue! I do a little posting here and there, but am relatively clueless as to how it all works...![p]QBabe
