Been hanging out here for a while now and haven't seen any brocolli being cooked on the egg. Anyone ever do this? Its HOT here today and we just turned the AC on, she's chugging along, but having a hard time bringing the temp down. We usually steam it in the steamer, but I'm looking for something outside to keep the additional heat out of the house. I'm also secretly trying to plant the seed/need for a small so I can do some sides on it as well as have a portable egg (only have a large now). :)

Sure, toss in some dressing, seaseme? or peanut, and grill/skewer/ stirfry. Lots of ways. Use your imagination. Yum!

Use your steamer pan! Just make sure it does not have meltable handles! You can do ANYthing on the Egg, that you can do inside, as long as you have the right equipment. (Cast Iron and stainless....no fears) Just go for it! ;) Practice makes perfect!! :woohoo:

Here's one I like from someone from the food wine list:

Julie. I think I'd ditch your family. How inconsiderate of them. But,
I am sure you'll enjoy yourself once you get into the kitchen and
    start doing magic.

Here's a vegetable we love. Easy to put together too. The lemon really
takes this to the next level. See my note within the recipe about the
    timing.

Broccoli Trees with Parmesan And Lemon - Serves 4
    Recipe By: Tyler Florence

    Ingredients

3 head broccoli (about 3 pounds)
    3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
    1 lemon -- juiced

    Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Trim about 1 inch off the ends of the broccoli stalks and cut the
broccoli lengthwise into spears. Arrange the broccoli on a nonstick
cookie sheet, drizzle with some olive oil and season with a little bit
of salt and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper. Toss to
coat evenly. Transfer to the oven and roast for 10 minutes.

Remove the broccoli from the oven and sprinkle the cheese evenly over
the top and bake until the cheese melt and forms a crisp shell over
the broccoli, about 10 minutes. Lift the broccoli out onto a platter
with a spatula and drizzle with fresh lemon.

    Recipe Notes

I increased the original roasting time to 20 minutes. We do not like
our broccoli crisp. Not soggy soft but not crunchy. 20 minutes first
roast, then the cheese for another 10 minutes. It was perfect.

I do em on one of those throw away grill toppers direct raised grid. About 10 min or less total for me. I like a bit of crunch.
