EggCamper,
The beauty of the egg is the fact that rain, sleet, snow, nor rain affects it. if you are using the daisy wheel,it might get in there, get a large coffee can, cut large holes in the side and then place over the daisy wheel. I did this once because of torrential downpour and was worried about it. Other times, I just said the he.. with it and it didn't affect the cook.

EggCamper,[p]No problem. If it's going to come down in buckets then you'll need to cover the top vent with something like an old coffee can with holes punched in the side. Otherwise it's impervious to weather.

EggCamper,
Rain is no problem, I live in New Orleans and last night T.S. Bill blew through, I smoked a dozen oysr=ters , cookes seaks and ribs. To date I have used the egg in two tropical storms and one hurricane- temp held steady.[p]One word of advice- keep a close eye on your vents, if the wind blows in the right direction ( like directly into the vent) for a sustained period of time the temp can rise. You may have to keep the vent closed more than normal to compensate- this is truly only an issue when there are sustained winds.[p]Eric
