Prime Rib Bone In

I am doing a bone-in prime rib tomorrow and I am wondering if the 325 for 20 minutes a pound is correct and what temp should I pull for the middle to be medium rare?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do the reverse seat method.
Cook until 125 interal at about 300ish. 20 min per pound is a pretty good estimate.
Pull at 125. Crank up the heat to 500+, still indirect. Sear for 10 minutes. Rest, tented in foil for 20+ minutes. Carve and enjoy. -
OVER COOKED AT 125 WITH A REVERSE SEAR!SEAR first then remove from fire @125,IT rest, tented 10-15 mins.,slice, enjoy!!!U can always throw a hunk o meat back on the grill for the less educated but u cannot uncook it!!! IMHO!!!

I followed thirdeye's recipe which you can fine here Standing Rib Roast (Prime Rib)
I did not do the end sear as the roast looked so nice, I didn't want to ruin it. Next time, I will to the end sear. This sure was fantastic and a very easy cook.

I highly recommend the cook.

Kent;
Looks awesome; nice job! I just showed Beth and I am going to try this next weekend.

Chris,
You will enjoy the cook - it tastes better than it looks. For the traditional look of the cut, that is medium on the outer edge do the end sear.

Wow thanks for all the helpful ideas, to do the reverse sear or not, that is the question.
Will post pics, if not too embarassing.
Happy Easter. -
I didn't do the reverse sear on my first cook but whish I had. I like the medium look on the outer edge of the cuts.
Nevertheless, this was one great tasting Prime Rib.

Okay this is a little delayed but here are pics from the Easter Bone In Prime Rib. I didn't do a sear, just 325 until she got to 125 and then rested 20 minutes. It was good!
