Anybody seen the Viking stainless BGE ripoff?

I was at a kitchen appliance store today, and saw the Viking brand version of a BGE. It was stainless on the outside, ceramic on this inside. It was on a nest, just like BGE, but, again it was stainless. the daisy wheel on top was not nearly as functional as the BGE. It was like $2,700. Sorry if already posted, but it was news to me.

I have seen them on the internet only not personaly. They do look alot like a BGE.

its actually a round ceramic cooker made by primo and marketed by viking, with the stainless provided by viking...they also make a version that sits in a big cart with a gasser on the side. ..sells for something like almost 4grand. ...you can buy a whole lotta prime beef for the cost of one of those things and they cook just as well, but no better than your standard bge. .. .. someone around here got one at bargain basement prices not long ago when some store was going out of business or something. .. they've been around for about 5 or 6 years now, and about every 6 months someone else "discovers" them ..LOL

Dang, that's shiny!
Well imitation is a form of flattery.
Just to be fair, didn't the BGE start by copying someone else? -
Hey Doug,
Careful how you use Bubba and Rip off in the same sentnce.. :woohoo: :woohoo:You must master temp, smoke, and time to achive moisture, taste, and texture! Visit www.bubbatim.com for BRISKET HELP -
Saw a different stainless steel model at the local ACE Hardware store--similarly EGG shaped but more like a pressure cooker. Company Veer_____ (land?). Looks like lots of imposters popping up

And I'll bet it is the same couple of cookers that keep getting discovered. I can't imagine they have sold too many. The Naked Whiz
