Howdy folks...
Last weekend we had one of our mybbq.net forum partys in Marburg, in the heart of germany.
You cant imagine how much fun, good food and adult beverages we had this weekend. 600 miles drive for me but definately worth it.
I cooked a giant vertical version of "Al Pastor" on my pig roaster and convinced a vegan to eat his first meat after 20 years this way.
Needless to say that he had Rib eyes off my mini BGE for dessert
and started his breakfast next morning with leftover BBQ meatloaf.
Mission accomplished.
Bring it on, PETA, next one please
Here we go :
Some shots of the location and people :
I had the Mini Egg aka personal-vulcano burning all weekend for ribeyes and other goodies
Atomic Buffalo turds and Atomic Rabbit turds
Tea...
Al Pastor - marinated pork butt grilled on a rotisserie with onion and pineapple slices.
I used Olive wood and pineapple skin for smoke, the flavour was out of this world.
We served it with grilled tortillas, sour cream, cilantro, cheddar cheese and fresh squeezed limes.
a mix of other great foods
Mee(a)t our die hard vegan - before the al pastor :
while eating it his first meat after 20 years
And the second portion...
Ribs...
Besides the barbecue, some even found the time to do some sightseeing
I´m looking forward to our next party in Marburg very much.
Anyone need an invite ?
Cheers,
DM

what a great post.
looks like a great mix of methods and ideas. i think you mentioned in an earlier post that in germany the whole "barbecue" thing is a movement that is just beginning to gain in popularity? looks like they certainly have a handle on things

Echt Super wie immer Marco!!
Just remember....on this Forum "PETA" means "People Eating Tasty Animals". -
Don Marco, what brought you to Germany? Wouldn't it be great fun for a bunch of EGGheads to arrive at the next Marburg event  Or for those guys to show up in USA at a biggie fest!! They sure look like they could add some "culture" to us Eggheathens :woohoo: Great pics!

Looks like an AMAZING party...
My wife will be in Cuxhaven in a few days. A few days too late!
I don't recall seeing so many BBQ's in Germany in the same place.
Lots of little charcoal grills for sausages, some large spits for Q'ing piglets, but rarely steaks.
Now I'm hungry!
