DO BONELESS BUTTS COOK FASTER?

I am doing 2 boneless pork butts at 220 and have never done boneless before. I did tie them up with butchers twine for a more condensed hunk of meat. Do boneless cook faster than bone in?

Should be pretty close to the same since you tied them up. Maybe a little but not much faster.

They do tend to cook a little faster Tim :)These took between 11.5-14.5hrs to cook.I think the biggest one was 8lbs.
BTW,these were done at 250 dome.

In my experience "No". I feel the bone in butts cook faster as the bone acts as another heating element, drawing heat in to the inside of the meat cooking it from the inside out. When my friends cook their butts on their grills they usually place the bone in direct contact with the grate. The grate conducts heat to the bone and then into the butts.
