Egg arrived, life is good

Well my egg arrived (a few days late) and now I know why you are all so damn passionate. This thing is unbelievable! I fired her up and in less than 10 minutes I was able to perfectly roast a bunch of red peppers. Then I tossed on a flank steak marinated in lime juice with a little s & P. I seared it for about 2 minutes per side and took it off. I shut the green monster down and threw on a couple of ears of corn, some zukes and some green onions. Turned them every so often. Then tossed the steak back on for another 3 minutes. I opened the vents back up, took everything off and tossed on my tortillas (about 10 seconds per side). The best damn fajitas we've had in a while![p]Questions: Pizza is one of my specialties and I am looking forward to putting it on the BGE. It looks like it might be difficult to get the pizza on the stone if it is sitting below the lip of the egg. Do you recommend firebrick under the stone and on the grill? Will the firebrick damage my porcelin coated grill?[p]Poncho

Poncho,[p]Firebricks will damage the grid finish over time. For pizza bakes, the platesetter accessory is a must. It raises your stone up to a more convenient level and provides additional thermal mass to ensure that the crust and toppings finish at the same time.[p]When used upside down, the platesetter is great for indirect cooks.[p]K~G

Poncho,[p]The platesetter is designed to fit on top of the fire ring. No need to leave the grill in place. And if you install the platesetter upside down, legs up, and place the grill on top of the legs, so have an excellent indirect setup.[p]Pout

If you like pizza, wait till you're cooking it on the egg!
Good move on the plate setter. You'll use it often. You'll also want a good pizza stone to go on top of the plate setter. And personally, I leave my grill in place and put the plate setter diretly on it. The legs are at the edge by the fire ring and not on a part of the grill that is used.[p]Couple of things: once your fire is started, add the plate setter and pizza stone and let everything come up to 5-600 degrees together and stay that way for 20 minutes or so. That'll have the stone hot. Once you add the pizza, it won't take but 10 mins or so to cook but if you do a second one, you'll need to allow the stone to get hot again or the second one won't be as good.
