Can someone please help me? I need to cook 10 racks of babyback ribs on a large BGE. What is the best way to get them all on at once? Can I stack them on top of each other? If I do will they cook the same? If anyone has a picture of how you do it please post it. Thank you, Steve

Steve, with ten slabs you should be able to use a rib rack and get them all on there. However, I also remember seeing someone who did stack their ribs. They made it a point to rotate the ribs throughout the cook (every 30 minuts or so) to get even cooking.

    <p />Steve,
I cooked 6 slabs Fathers day,14 lbs.of baby backs.I could have put one more rack on each side and lay two on top to make 10.

  • Steve,
I have cooked 20 St. Louis style ribs at once, using the V rack, placing 2 in each slot then finding room for the rest and keeping enough cracks between for circulation, I did a low-n-slow for about 6 hours and I was amazed at the way they came out, AWESOME. If I was smart enough I'd post the pic here, I sent the pic to put on a bulletin board where I bought my BGE for others to see.

  • YB,[p]I like that bolt set-up for the grill extention!
What lenght bolts did you use (I just bought a medium).[p]Tks

    Tony,
With a medium you need 3 1/2"x3/8" stainless steel carriage bolts. It really adds cooking space to the egg.

  • YB,[p]Thanks!
Again, great idea, looks like a much better set-up than the BGE Grill Extender. Now I just need to stop by Home Depot for a 15" grill and the bolts/nuts/washers.[p]Tony

    YB,
For a large, what size bolts do you use? I have seen the Weber replacement grates at HD. I am assuming I need the 18.5". Is this correct? Also, what do the bolts sit on? I couldn't tell from the pic. [p]Thanks![p]

  • wil,
Dude! Your post should come with a... Caution: Statements made in my post are bigger than they appear... Anyway, if you were madwhack enough to try and cram 70 pounds of ribs in your egg, I cant see how they cooked in the same time as a normal slab would, or how those ones in the middle even got warm by then..;-) I'm willing to believe parts of your story but not all.. Either there were less than twenty, it took longer than 6 hours, or...... the word Awesome didnt really apply..[p]But If thats the case, I think I should be able to fit about three hundred slabs in my little backyard offset this weekend...Party at my House!!![p]
