    Wow, & all this time I thought I already knew ALL the reasons to buy beer :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: . I have got to try that - was it just a direct substitution for water or did you make any other changes?

    Glad you know one of the secrets.I have not used water in my dough for many years as it does impart a unique flavor that is hard to put your finger on.I have mentioned this many times on the forum and the guys don't know what they are missing.By the way great looking pies.

    guinness is good in everything, try it in cobblers and do a search for guinness bread.

    Any good full bodided beer will do.Even the cheap stuff.Just make sure it is flat and if necessary stir it up till most of the foam is gone.
