anybody ever hot tub a prime rib?

We're bracing here for a winter storm of sleet and then 3 to 5" of snow but I have a 2 pound prime rib calling our names. I normally prefer a 250 indirect roast and then a reverse sear. I'm thinking of doing at least a partial hot tub for say maybe 30 minutes or 45 to speed up the cook. Anybody have any eggperience or should I just wing it?

I've cooked ribeyes over 2 pounds by grilling direct at 400 and end up with a nice char by the time the center hits 120. Not as even as the hot tub but works for me.

I have done 3 & 4 bone ribs and lots of different steak cuts in the spa 100F usually 1 hour. Great way to pre heat the beef. Great afor pork roasts also. Even defrost my frozen poultry and ribs that way.

jus the sound of droppin a prime rib in a hot tub is hard for me to get my brain around...but given the weather you have headed your way...see no reason it wouldn work

Just make sure it is well sealed or you might get a chemical burn.

No, but I did hot tub with a prime beef once. Man was he built. Gave up the young ones. Hard to hold your stomach in that long. :S
