Outstanding! Very juicy, tender with great flavor.

New method for me; Searing with a heavy cast iron grill pan.
I will post more about this method and setup when I try more cooks, learn time and temp data.
This is my second cook using the iron grill pan, the first was with ribeyes-- they were outstanding also.
:cheer: :silly: :P

Looks great.Let us know who's pan that you used.I have had a hard time trying to find one that will fit my large without cutting it.I used a Lodge griddle/skillet that you normally use on your stove top with some good results.

Well I had to cut the handle down but it's a good fit in the large. Handle cutting is easy, I'll post a how-to.
Bobby Flay has a product line in cast iron. VERY heavy casting, not the thin stuff. Sold at Kohls. Measures out 10 1/2" square, the size I was looking for to set in just above the firebox.
I hope this link works......

That looks cool. But I might be one up on you.I just came back from Home Depot and in the grilling section they had a unique new product. It is an adjustable cast iron grid that will expand from 14 inches to 20 inches in width. The depth is seven and three quarters.Go to wwwcharbroil.com and enter part number 4984355 it sells for $39.00.I rigged up a 14 inch Weber Smokey joe grate with three bolts that set way down in that fire. Now I just might have a cast iron that will fit down there or on top of the main cooking surface on the Egg.Check it out and see what you think.
