Butt went to 206 internal...

Quick question...the butt I put on last night cooked a little faster than I expected this time. When I checked on it this morning the internal temp had already gone to 206. Is this going to end up dry?

    I would say foil with juices and wrap in towels in cooler for an hour or two, then check it out.

    If it's dry you can add some Coke.I ' ve done it and it got rave reviews.you won't be able to taste it

    no. it's already dry. the collagen will keep it moist. well, the gelatin that the collagen has been turned into, i mean.

    you can't screw up a butt. some folks take them to 205 as a rule
