Using BGE "shoes" on a table istallation
Steve
Posts: 94
Well, we are just starting to set up our first BGE and noticed the manual said to use bricks or stepping stones under the egg when using the table installation. I like the little green "shoes". Is any one out there using them anyway? We're preparing JJ's rib rub tonight, so we can fire it up tomorrow. It is a pleasure reading this forum. It's an unbelievable resourse. Thank You!

Steve,
By all means use both the feet (allows air circulation) and a stepping stone or such to further protect your table from the heat. It does get hot and I've even had to replace a round exposed aggregate stone that shattered like it had been hit with a sledge hammer. Folks will come along and say to just leave plently of ashes in the bottom but why risk the chance?
BTW make sure to adjust the distance between your lower shelf and the top to compensate for the additional thickness of the stone...the lift from the feet is already figured in. And welcome aboard!!!

RRP,
Thank you so much, I never thought of using both!

The Naked Whiz,
Thank you so much, like I mentioned to RRP I never thought of using both! Thanks for the photo, your table is very cool. Is that an inset cutting surface?! What is it made of?
Thanks again,
Steve
P.S. this is his wife carole, steve doesn't like the computer and he is out doing his (maybe)last chicken dinner on the Weber.

Steve,
Say goodbye Weber, hello Egg! Here is a link to my webpage all about my table. It shows everything in detail. The top is a 18x18 inch tile from Home Depot.[p]TNW

The Naked Whiz, Every time I see that, I'm drinking a beer and laugh. So that means I have to clean up the screen. Can you come up with a disclaimer before I open.[p]CWM
