lamb is still my favourite cook, it's good on the bone too.
A good cook I've done is lamb shoulder over a pan of thickly sliced potatoes (which have to start later).

My wife did not care for lamb until I cooked a leg of lamb following the recipe of a New Zealander friend. The key, I think, is removing as much of the "thick" fat as possible when prepping the meat. Keeps that 'gamey' taste at bay.
