Whole chickens

I am planning on cooking 4 or 5 whole chickens. I have a large BGE and a raised grid. I plan on putting 2 chickens cut and laid flat on the bottom grid and 2 or 3 on a holder standing up on the top grid. Question: Will cooking time differ? I usually cook mine at 350 for 1 hour. Has anyone tried that?[p]Thanks for your help,
Horn Dog

Horn Dog,
Haven't tried it, but have an opinion on the matter....[p]The BGE is fundamentally a wood fired oven. If you overpack an oven, you need to lengthen the cook time. Also think of the cook time on a stuffed versus non-stuffed bird - you always add time when you have it stuffed. Suggest that you go up to 1-1/2 hours, checking the temp at the hour mark and the 1-1/4 mark.

Horn Dog,
I recently did 2 chickens (spatchcocked) and at 350, it took 1 1/4 hours. With that much meat, I agree, you will have to add some time to the cook.[p]Mike in MN
