    I have yet to do a turkey on the xl. I'm kinda partial to deep fried or having somebody cook....LOL. thanks for the kind remarks.....the xl stainless junk pile has grown a wee pit of late.....

    I've played with the reducing ring in the large. Not sure it is worth it. Even put it on the spider with a weber 13.5 inch grid underneath. Raised the lump to just under the felt line for easier grilling but still not sure it's a viable alternative.

    here is one from a recent cook. blackened the steaks down low then moved up onto the flip ring in the up position.

    I have an Xl and love it. I have a family of 5, but on party days it can be as many as 25. The Xl has worked very well for me.
