I was flying once (commercial) over central Florida back in the md80's - don't even remember where I was going - but the captain said to look out the left windows We saw the shuttle burst through the clouds. It was the most awesome thing I had (and have) ever seen firsthand.

I hope you guys get to see the launch. :woohoo:

Some years ago on our way to Key West we stopped a few days to catch a launch and stood next to a family. The man had a monkey on his shoulder. Not sure if I will remember the rocket or the monkey the longest. It was very interesting.

We go a chance to see a launch from fairly close-up (the Causeway) a couple of years back. Very impressive, I have some photos taken with my old OM1 that used this film kind of stuff that wasn't digital,if you can believe that. My daughter was a rocket scientist at the time and worked on the left OHMs engine of the shuttles, cool job. She now is flying the newly launched Kepler trailing satellite. We also got to watch a Titan night launch.

Steven...I don't know what it more impressive. The visual, or the wave of sound that impacts your body a couple minutes after liftoff. Like thunder! I love it! Looking great for Sundays launch in all respects!! Glad you are enjoying yourself! Sorry the weather sucks...lol! :laugh:
