how do we reach eggers who don't know us?

Today I attended our local annual home builders' show in Peoria, IL. Peoria itself has a 100K population and our SMSA population is about 300K...so we're not large, but not tiny either. This show runs for 2.5 days, has 240 exhibitors, and last year drew 20,000 people. For kicks and giggles I wore my COOL blue denim shirt that has the embroidered BGE emblem and slogan over the breast pocket. It's colorful and catches the eye. While I was only at the show 2 hours walking around looking I had 5 different people stop me and say they also owned an egg. Funny thing is 4 of them were exhibitors at 4 different booths and the 5th was just an attendee like myself. NONE of them knew about this board!!! I'm going to have some business(like) cards printed with this site so in the future I can leave them with people. I realize I'm a nut about this board, but just my little sample today tells me there are other eggers who walk among us who have no idea of the support, recipes, techniques and even friendships available here.

I don't think I've ever seen an ad on tv for the BGE until yesterday. I was watching the outdoor channel and an ad featuring one of the fishing guru's was about the Egg. They said "for more info, go to WWW.BIGGREENEGG.COM".
Maybe that will lead them here.

LOL it is funny isn't it. Since we took the large to the studio last summer and it is visible from a few views from inside, I have spent more time talking eggs than hooking almost! I was surprised at the number of people that said oh your an egger! but most say "what the heck is that??" I have had about 6 regular customers tell me they had an egg and did not know about the forum.

I have wondering the same thing. Although I live in a small town there is a BGE dealer here at a lumber/hardware store.
I think I need to figure how make and print a banner with this websites address and give to them to display.
I may need another rum and coke to mull this over :ohmy:aka marysvilleksegghead

Love the button down! where might those be found? not to much of a tee shirt gal :blink: one other thing about having the egg at the studio is the number of people that have an egg and say "oh we used to cook a lot on it but got out of it???" weird :blink: but I do wonder why???

back when I got mine I won it in competition. It had been donated by the wholesaler and at that time anyway they were supposedly not for retail sale, but for the wholesaler's personnel to wear at trade shows and such. They are nice!

a simple card included with each egg, or passed on by the dealer that says "www.eggheadforum.com" would help...
many dealers don't know about this place, let alone egg ownders -
When I told my sister I had an egg, she actually knew what it was. Her and her boyfriend saw one on The Price Is Right. He told her it was just one of those 'trendy' things. :laugh:
