Never been able to log on

I have never been able to log on.

I registered a user name RGBHV and listed a handle MOS2401.

I've tried different combinations and passwords to no avail. I've had new passwords e-mailed to me and tried them to no avail.

Instead of posting/participating, I just lurk and look at pictures.

There appears to be two different accounts for you, neither of them has been confirmed. There are two different email addresses, one at "rogers.com", the other at excite.com. Both accounts use the same handle "RGBHV". One of them uses "RGBHV" as the username, the other username is mos2401.

I need to disable whichever account you don't wish to use.

For the one that you'd like to use, I need to send you a confirmation email; and, then we'll see if we need to reset your password.

Which account would you like to use?

I've modified the two accounts and triggered a confirmation email. After confirmation, you can request a new password if necessary.

If you let me know who the e-mail will come from I'll add them to an approved list - maybe it will make it through then.

It should come from registrations at eggheadforum dot com.

If possible, it would be best to add any address at eggheadforum.com to your approved list to avoid missing something else (e.g. password reset email).

I'm not a techno geek, but I've been working with computers for 20 years so I feel pretty comfortable with them...I thought I was going crazy...

I have an e-mail requesting that I click a specific link. When I do, the egghead web site tells me my account is not active. When I copy and paste the link into my browser, the same thing happens.

Let me know what to do next.

Sorry about the delay. It took a bit to track down the problem. It turns out that your profile was "chopped in half" when it was saved for some reason. Once I realized this, I manually created the required "row" with minimal information. Once you get logged on, you'll want to check your profile information.

I've sent another confirmation email (the old one should work too if you still have it). See if you will work for you now.

It worked ! I was able to logon!

I tried to update my profile

was O\'Shea - I tried to change it to O'Shea but it wouldn't work.

I tried to change the country to Canada - it seems o.k. on the profile itself, but when I click on the user profile, it still shows as US.

If these can be changed, great - if not, so be it.

Lastly, there still seems to be an issue with my password. When I tried to post this message, I had a posting problem.
