Newbie wants to cook a London Broi;

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Just got my egg yesterday. Cooked burgers last night. They were good...not much of a challenge there. Today I would like to cook a London Broil - for dinner. I don't yet have any acc.s except the metal top. Can anybody give my a good, idiot-proof method/recipe?[p]Remember, I have ZERO experience. I don't know a rub from an ebrasion.

  • Brad,[p]One simple way is to salt and pepper, garlic powder as well.[p]Rub on some olive oil.[p]Get the Egg Hot. 700.
    Sear two mins. on each side.
    Then shut all the openings. Put the green cap on. (Dwell) Leave it in there for 5-6 mins. Pull it out after that.
    Let it sit for 5 mins. so the juices settle.
    Slice the baby thin on the angle. It will be the best tasting London you have ever made.[p]Use tongs not a fork to flip. Wear a glove when you open the egg to flip. Flash back and steam burns.
    Hope that helps. Timing dictates cold or warm pink center.

    Brad,
    Remember to open the lower and upper vents for a minute or so before opening lid to avoid flasback. For more information on flashbacks go to TNW's site.
