  • A question for the group. Are any of you on a particular diet or weight plan?

I am 64 and am not on any plan however I do exercise at least three hours and up to five hours a week. I am retired, on blood pressure and cholestoral medication
  • I'm currently on a plan of my own making. I'm simply eating smaller portions of what I would normally eat. I still have my beer with dinner and the occasional dessert, but my portions are about half of what I used to eat. My wife and I split most meals if we go out to eat, otherwise I'll just mark off half my meal on the plate and take the rest home for lunch.

I am doing weight watchers online. Not a huge change in my eating habits though I am going out less, but more a change in portion size. That was the biggest eye opener for me.

I was eating close to 4 portions as a regular meal....

I cut that in half. The nice thing about the WW online is it forces you to look at what you ate and be truthful about it.

changed from sam adams to guinness and dropped the breads and pastas for the most part. picking one day a week to fast.
  • Thanks for the feedback. I know it is about portion size and the pasta but boy is it tough for me to cut back. I had always hoped that exercise would be the secret but it is not.
