Calibration of a Thermopen

I forgot Susan Egglaine had asked how to calibrate a Thermopen.
I just got off the phone with Thermoworks and they are emailing written instructions. I was told in general Thermopens do not need to be adjusted.
If the instructions are long I will just email them to whoever wants a copy, otherwise I will post them here.
The adjustment pods are on the back of the thermopen under the sticker. Adjusting should be pretty simple, ice water & boiling water and knowing what the boiling temperature at your altitude (can be found here on the forum drop down menu under Cookbook or at Thermomworks. The Thermoworks also takes into consideration the humility).
I will follow up with exact detailed instructions when I receive them.

Thanks for the response!! I have never seen this question before, I thought the answer must be common knowledge. I think my thermopen is off a little. Water boiling now!

I'll wait for the instructions.
Please post them here when you get them.

GG-Please e-mail a copy of the instructions to me. Thank you

I just received the information. It was sent to me with 2 PDF attachments.
Amber included some pictures in the files so posting them isn't going to be something I can do quickly.
She has a small instruction about using the ice water and where to put the probe.
I think it will be easier if I just email what received to those who want it.
I can not put attachments in the forum email so you will need to email me with an email address you will receive. I do received emails when sent through the forum. I will also keep an eye on the junk folder just in case.
In the subject line put
thermopen calibration
I then send the instructions to you - for those concerned I won't use your email addresses for anything other than send the calibration instructions.

Grandpas Grub, Thanks in advance for the information! I have put off buying a Thermopen because I was under the impression that they could not be re-calibrated. It is good to learn otherwise.
I am a new Egger and had a medium BGE given to me for Christmas by my sister and brother in law, God bless them. Sunday it was skirt steaks at 650 degrees, marinated them in Teriyaki sauce and gave them about 3 minutes a side. Perfect!!! I cooked six in rapid fire and am loving the leftovers.

I am not sure if it is necessary or not, nevertheless, I just emailed Thermoworks to get permission.
I will get the instructions sent to you shortly.
