Guess what I found in my GFS lump

I saw a pic posted by a guy on another board and noticed that he had a bag of Gordon Food Service lump. This got my juices flowing because I only really have access to Royal Oak and Cowboy, I would rather take Cowboy, but figured I would try the GFS brand.

I emptied the bag and found the following
1. several pieces of wood
2. a metal band probably used to fasten the wood for the burn
3. fiberglass.

All you have is RO and Cowboy... and you're expecting an off brand to be better?

There may be better stuff out there, but you already have two pretty good lumps...

The GFS manager here told me that Royal Oak makes their lump now. As for finding things that's not uncommon for any brand. I have a rock collection myself. If you ever see lump made it's not rocket science nor hospital room sterile either! Personally I'll take any RO made product as long as it's American wood over Cowboy any ol' day!

I'm having a pleasant experience with my GFS and the price was right $10.49/ 20lb.
Perhaps you got a bad bag/lot or I got a good one

From the description it sounds like re-packaged RO......Oh wait, you haven't found a melted screwdriver or a glove yet.....

No but this morning when I was walking my dog on the sidelawn (I live on a corner) I found a huge drill bit with a rock stuck in it. I was happy, I could probably use it, at least more than I can use empty boxes of Newports and Taco Bell wrappers.
