Before I cut out the backbone, I'd like to know if I can fit three, 3.7 lb spatchcocked
on an XLG egg? If not, I'll have to egg them whole.

I dont have an XL but I put 3 on my large the other night. They were all about 3.5 pounds and all on the same raised grid. Should be fine on the XL. have a great weekend!

Frank,
I guess my old hens will fit because they certainly aren't as buxom as your chics.

Four spatchcocks will fit comfortable. You can prolly fit six small chicks.

We live in a small neighborhood. I smoked 18 just before Christmas and gave one to each family in the hood. Except for my neighbor who lives across the street with five grown adult kids - three still in college, one married and all visiting for the holidays. They got three including the two in front. They got a kick out of that.
