spring assisted band

I've just installed a spring assisted band kit on my large Egg, and i'm having some troubles. The problem is when I open the Egg and then close it the top and base dont line up. If anyone else has experenced this problem pleas let me know. Thanks BcBum.

    I had the same problem. Close the lid, reintall the brace in the rear to keep the hinge in the shut position. Loosen the bolts that hold the hinge to the base & dome. [p]Now reintall the hinge. Make sure the dimple onj the band fits securely in the hole in the ceramic. Now do the same on the dome. Tighten each one a 1/2 turn in succession (first base then dome then base then dome then base then dome, etc) until you think it is tight enough. Now tighten another couploe revolutions. I have found that not tightening the bands completely was my problem.[p]After the bands have been tightened to the point of bending the bolts (how I tell mine was tight enough) then I remove the brace from the rear. Now you should have a good seal. [p]Good luck![p]Banker John
