found ends yesterday for 2.99 a pound, now it wasnt the best stuff in the world, domestic, but still wasnt bad, never thought to ask at the deli before and they had them cryovaked with the coppa. going to start asking for it at the deli and try and score some imported ends from now on, someones getting them. anyways, zippy's post with the shrimp lejon yesterday came out great. shrimp horesradish and ham, wish they would hurry up and fix my camera lense

Do the sea gulls follow you around when you clean the fish that you just caught?Ends are good as on roast beef, pork butt etc.A close friend of mine runs a Italian deli and now it seems that I have to make a phone call and get on a reserve list.Learn something new every day here.

i used to ask for boiled ham ends back in school for peasoup, used to make big cheap batches. never thought to ask for this stuff. 5 ends at 2.5 pounds total were in the pack, on the meat slicer i got 20 good slices from one end for the shrimp and a little bit of scrap for the dog. 4 ends to go. theres always gulls behind the boat, they seem to hang out in front of the house too  they were a tad dry but usable, tonight im giving a quick soak in olive oil and mabe some balsamic before wrapping the shrimp. bet the deli has a use for them already where the local supermaket was just unloading them, but it never hurts to askfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I thought that his spatchcocked birds looked a bit like seagulls.

i guess i didnt word that right  anyways you need to be careful with gulls, the ones near the dump taste great, but the ones near the sea have an oily fishy taste

Fishlessman,
I hadn't thought of those in ages, I usually buy the procuittini. There was an Italian market near my old house that saved them for me, The bones made a great stock.
