Hamburgers/Hot dogs

Cooking some tomorrow for the kids on the egg. Had good luck with hamburger steaks about 1 inch thick at 400 for 5 min. per side. Any great suggestions for hamburgers or hot dogs. Never done hot dogs on egg. Thanks.

    rock,
I mix my ground chuck with chopped onions and my favorite BBQ sauce. Make a few patties and cook. Be careful you can put to much sauce in.[p]CWM

rock,[p]I believe hotdogs are the only thing thats a waste to cook on the egg. Don't get me wrong, the egg will grill them right up for ya but we don't even bother any more doing them on the egg. They are so basic I guess that on a stick over an open fire does just as good.[p]With that little opinion said lemme add everything else we have ever cooked on there has been a big improvement from our pre-egg days. We've even cooked link sausage and we couldn't believe how much better than the skillet they were. A nice crust and full of juice with great flavor from the lump.[p]But hotdogs just don't get real impressive. :-)

rock, I think dogs are wonderful on the BGE. Like someone else said, the hot dog chili is an excellent addition. I put my dogs on about 350-400 and let then grill for a few minutes and then rotate. I keep rotating them until I get a nice brown crust all the way round.
