Have determined that my dome thermo is reading 50 degrees higher than it should. How do I fix it? Thanks, Ray Price

Babyray, I have not had to do this myself but others have posted that you can grip the hex-nut looking raised area, at the base of the probe, and then gently twist the dial housing. You may have recheck the calibration in boiling water a coulple to times to get it to read correctly. [p]CR

    Babyray,
It's easy. Bring a pot of water to a boil, stick the thermometer in but careful not to touch the bottom or sides of the pot and wait till it reads it's highest reading. Then use the nut on the back of the thermometer to adjust the needle to read 212. On many of the newer models, there is a small dot just outside the markings to indicate 212. You'll need a couple pair of pliers...one to hold the thermometer, one to turn the nut.
It's not a bad idea to check the accuracy often just to be on the safe side.
