WOW!
I am so glad that my Kalua Pig topic has had so much input! I can't wait to cook this for our Luau on the 27th! What great ideas and information. I am glad I asked! Thanks!

Painter, many thanks. I've been wondering for a while how to cook this classic and every time I check a recipe its liquid smoke and salt- not that I'm against smplicity but I would like to use the egg to do a more interesting job of duplicating the flavor but with a nice crust.

greeneggonmyface, hey man this is exciting stuff!! I hear Kiave wood works well for smoking chunks. Or maybe a chunk of kiave and apiece of guava

Q-BALL,
I am heading to the BGE store, or the Grill Galore to look for the Kiave or Guava chunks this weekend. Thanks for the great tip!
