Chicken wing shortage

Read this from a couple different sites. Seems like a few poultry farms going bankrupt has caused the chicken wing market to tighten up with limited supply and increased cost. Better get those Super Bowl wings now while the price is low.

I've never understood how a chicken wings can be more expensive than a boneless skinless breasts. Maybe it's just me.
  • Happens every year around Super Bowl. There just aren't enough wings. The answer to the price of wings and breast, when you order wings you order 10 to ever how many. (4 wing sections or 2 whole wings per bird) that means you are eating the wings from at least 2.5 chickens, you never eat breast meat from 2.5 chickens. Supply and demand.
How about that the majority of the US population eat only breast. legs and thighs are pleantiful.........

Years ago chicken wings were one of the cheapest thing you could buy. Then along came Hooters and prices and popularity went up.
  • Started before that at a place called the Anchor Bar.
Hooters just jumped on the bandwagon and many followed.
But just think of fried chicken, slathered in butter and hot sauce and dip in bleu cheese dressing. A real cardio work-out.
  • Anchor bar wings are the best you'll ever have:
