MAVERICK ET-73 probes interchangeable?

The Maverick ET-73 has two probes. One for the meat and one for the pit. Are they interchangeable? Is it the same replacement probe for pit or meat probe if it burns out? I see that Fred has heavy duty probes (good to 550) that will be available soon. Anybody try these? Could you use this heavy duty probe for both meat and pit?

I suppose you could interchange but the meat temp range maxes out around 200 or so, and the pit probe would be difficult to stick into the meat.

I got a replacement meat probe from Fred's it works just fine as a pit probe. Before that I ordered one direct from Maverick and it took around a month to arrive.

I was thinking of ordering the ET-73 from Fred and also ordering the heavy duty Pit Probe at the same time. I figure I'm sure to fry one soon. Which probe usually fries? I assume the pit probe? Does the meat probe fry very often? Where do you get replacements for the meat probe? Didn't see on at Fred's.
