I got one of these as a present last week.
I used it on a pork butt this weekend and it worked well.
I cooked a beef tenderloin tonight on a raised grid. I did it direct.
I thought I would use the Maverick to get better used to it for other cuts of meat.
So, I stick on the tenderloins and the alert set for 145 degrees. Now the cook temp is set on HI and won't leave that setting.
Does anyone know what is going on or how to reset it. I stuck the probe into a piece of cold meat thinking it would come down but it never did?
Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

the hhh display means you fried the probe.. What temp did you cook the tenderloin at? Did you do it direct or indirect?
-
Right, the probe is toast if you go above 400.

Awesome! I just learned a 30 dollar lesson!

No, you learned a $12 to $15 lesson. Contact Maverick and get replacement probe.

Wrap some aluminum foil around the next one and it will last a little longer, don't use it anytime there is a flame in your BGE IMO. Use the fan to get the fire going, then put the probe in after the fire settles down if you feel you really need the probe then. I give this advise but rest assured I have flamed more than my share of probes.
