CLASS IN SESSION: ADVANCED TEXT SEARCH 101

One of our forum members recently asked if someone could point him to a previous days post about hot dogs in Marietta, GA.

So here is your first "Fishing Lesson" on how to find something like this using the advanced text search WMK and I spent A LOT of time implementing, especially since we had to make it FAST since it searches through close to half a million posts.

From the "Forums" menu, select "Search Forum"...

Enter: "hot dog" Marietta (quotes around hot dog)
check "Search Message Text"
check "Search Replies"
check "Advanced Search"

set "Begin search" to "today" (default)
set "and go back" to "30 days"
set "Order By" to "newest first"
set "Return First" to "200" (this lets you see the first 200 characters in the message returned)

Then press the "Search" button.

You'll get a nice list of matching posts, ordered by newest date first. To view a complete message in the results, just click on the Subject line in the first column.
