Crying over this onion...

I have a very nice large onion with which I would like to have my way. I thought that I had seen a great recipe for preparing this round fellow on Mr. Egg. Any body point me in the right direction? My Sirlon wants a partner tonight.
Thanks!

I sure wish someone would answer this that has a good idea! It sounds like a wonderful thing to put with a steak. I threw on some giant mushroom caps last night with a little chopped onion in them and coated with cheese. They smelled great. However I made the mistake of leaving them to sit on the edge of the counter when I tossed on the steaks. With two bassets, that is a no-no. Bassets are counter-surfers extraordinaire. They said the mushrooms were quite tasty.

    MollyShark,
I hope that one of them wasn't the one that mis-took the Egg for something else! :-) [p]We've got two cats (a Himilayian & a tabby) that have the same logic and opinion! "If it's on the counter, it's mine"! "as soon as you leave the room"! It's fun trying to out fox them!

    Nu-Guy,
Your welcome,go to the 1999 arcives and type in Vidalia onions, for some reason it would not let me post that page.If you won't to give the onions a little bite sprinkle the top with cayenne pepper and if you cannot get Vidalias,Texas sweets work well.

YB, I will second your emotions!! JJ sent me up a huge supply of those vidalias onions last year, and about the same time they hit the grocery bin's here. Great eating and Vidalias are one of a kind. I did your suggestions last year as well.
    Thanks and Cheers..C~W[p]

MollyShark, there are days when I wish I was a basset hound instead of a Char-Woody. Sigh..Those sound great! Were they those large flat/rounds with the brown color? Forgot the name but they look real inviting.
