Editing Profile?

I have tried to edit my profile several times to no avail. I have entered into my profile from two diferent directions: member-> edit my profile, & my profile below the header. I made changes and hit update. The reply back was: "This email is already registered, if you forgot your password, click on lost password". No Joy!

Is there a step by step method somewhere? I can't believe as good as this site is, it doesn't have an easier way to update, I must be missing something.

I have the same situation as Big'un, can't edit my old profile. Would like my own choice for password to the forum and profile, right now using a random code password sent to me by e-mail so I could access the forum.
Do I send you the password I want so you can make the change? I'm fine with that.

In reply to you both... I tried editing my profile last night from my MacBook Pro using Safari and also from my Windows machine. I was trying to fix the photo in my profile, which, when I switched to HTML view in the editor, was totally screwed up. I made several attempts at fixing the HTML to be correct for the image, but every time I saved it I got screwed up by adding \" before every backslash... This is something new and Im not sure if it is something WMK changed or what.

We'll look at the password thing as well... that shouldn't be happening... It should be a total no brainer and easy to change your password.

I just edited my profile and changed the password.. that worked fine... what all did you attempt to change in your profile before you tried to save? The more detail we get the more it helps us to find a problem. The issue I have is every time I save it, the HTML for my image gets screwed... and apparently it also messes up the hyperlink tag .

I'll consult with WMK to see what gives.

I tryed to add a Home Page URL: and to change my Signature. I also attempted to correct a spelling error in my Current cookers: Nothing Major! Could it be that because I built my profile in Beta forum, that it won't allow the change? Thanks!

Your Eggtoberfest account was created using the same email address. We'll have to check for that next year; and, clarify the instructions as you were not the only one that created a new account just for Eggtoberfest.

I disabled the other account and modified its email address so you should be able to save your profile changes now.

You're right and wrong. There is another account using the same email address as your account, but it does not appear to have been created for Eggtoberfest. Instead, it is for a different account, never confirmed, called "DianaQ". I'll disable the other account so you can edit your profile. Let me know if you want me to reactivate the other account also with a different email address.
