Everytime I put a drip pan on the platesetter all the liquid dries up and burns to the pan. I have tried filling the pan completely up with apple juice and water, but no matter what the pan is scorched during the cook. I have also used the egg feet to seperate the pan from the grill and it still burns. and these where all low temp cooks. Is this common?

Pick up a couple of lengths of angle iron at the hardware store and set the point up ^ on the plate setter, then set your drip pan on them. The air gap will help.
I use these when I bake things in casserole dishes too.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
You don't need to put liquid in your drip pan. I have been just using alum. foil on top of my plate setter. I make a drip pan with 1" sides.

I'm even lower tech than that...I just wad up a few balls of aluminum foil and put them under the drip pan. That seems to do it.

I use a drip pan filled with apple juice and the egg feet under. I get scorched dripping too, but it doesn't affect the flavor of the meat. Unless you use the drippings for gravy I wouldn't sweat it.
