AJW,[p]Other than the obvious (daisy wheel, Egg nest, thermometer), I would recommend a plate setter and a remote thermometer. A pizza stone is great, too.[p]Jim

JSlot,[p]The Internet must be a little wacky tonight -- I agree on the pizza stone, but make sure they get a good one. BGE's is a good one.[p]Tim

Tim M,[p]I have to agree with you on needing a good pizza stone. And of course by good, I mean thick ceramic. I had a stone lying around the house, and decided to use that for my first pizza. One cook, and it was cracked in 2. It fit together easily like a puzzle though, so I cooked on it again, and it then turned into 3 pieces. Fortunately, they also have no problem fitting together, (I don't glue or anything, just fit them as close as possible), so I can still use them until I finally either order a BGE stone directly or go back to my dealer to get a stone from him. I haven't heard any stories of people with BGE or Primo stones cracking, but many with inferior ones like mine (from Crate and Barrel) have cracked under the intense heat of the egg.
Pizza on the egg is incredible, and without the pizza accessories (plate setter or firebricks plus pizza stone), you'd really be missing out on some of the egg's versatility. I haven't tried any other breads on it yet, but using the same set up as for pizza, I'm planning to do a sourdough this weekend (I began working on the starter last night).[p]--Aro

AJW,
My personal favorite, which no one ever seems to mention, is a cheap metal (METAL) bucket. It makes it easier to muck out the Egg without worrying of catching anything on fire. Go to the Dollar General/Tree/Store. Don't buy good, buy cheap. Or better yet, recycle that old stale popcorn container you got last Christmas.... Or, even better yet, a nail brush to get the lump dust off your hands if you don't already have one.[p]Kelly Keefe

Aron,
I have done numerous pizzas on my crate and barrel stone (16") with no problem. How hot were you getting it? I routinely cook at 550-600 on mine. I wonder if they would take it back and replace it?[p]TNW
The Naked Whiz -
The Naked Whiz,[p]I don't think I got any higher than 600 (maybe 650, but I don't think so). However, I bought the stone years before the egg, used it in the oven maybe once or twice, and then no more until the egg. So no receipt anymore, and I've moved 1500 miles since then. No big deal--it still works fine, but I will eventually get one that's in one piece, and when I do that, I may as well make it a thicker one while I'm at it.[p]Aron

Kelly Keefe,
Amen on the cheap bucket. Keep the lid by the way, great for snuffing any coals that might be on the warm side.

Aron,
