<p />I have been wanting to input to this forum ever since I got my BGE Christmas of 2001, and to thank everybody for the great ideas and recipes. But I would not be satisfied until I could try to include a picture. This is the test picture.

DOTW:[p]Very nice cooking area you have. Where is it located? I must admit, it disturbs me greatly to see a cooking area with an empty bottle anywhere close to it . . . (smilie thingie)

  • djm5x9,Usually when I am cooking there are some bottles that are not empty. If you look close the is a small red spot to the left of the BGE behind a chair. That is my old Red metal Coke a Cole cooler that keeps my bevareges of choice nice and ice cold. Here in Ga you need plenty of them in the hot summer. Thanks for the reply I was glad to no somebody was out there.

  • Car Wash Mike,Yes I have already been eggsperincing great everything. I have enjoyed cooking on the BGE and coming to this forum and getting new ideas. This is a great group of folks. I am also looking forward to the summer even tho the winters are not that bad here.

    Dock of The Woods,
You have a beautiful cooking area. Is your BGE setting directly on a wooden deck, or do you have something between it and the wood?

  • Steve-O,Thanks, the BGE is just sitting on those little feet that come with the egg, also if you notice it is on the upper level of the Dock whitch makes it a little more workable, I am planning to build a custom nest for it soon. But I was thinking of a couple of steping stones to get it a little higher until I build the nest. I also was reading the thread about eggs under a roof the other day, I have never had a problem with mine where it sits. There is a ceiling fan that helps if there is ever a smoke problem.

  • Nice place you have there! I'm jealous! All I have is a small deck on the back of a townhouse. That deck does have a large Big Green Egg on it! So I guess it's not that bad.[p]I recieved my egg this past December as a Christmas present. I've become inspired enough to build a web site dedicated to cooking, grilling, and the Big Green Egg![p]I'm not much of a web designer and I only started this site about 10 days ago.
Could you check it out and let me know what you think? It has a very long way to go, however I just had to put something out there for someone to see. The address is: http://www.mikencathy.com/bge.html

  • Dock of The Woods,[p]Wow what a nice area. Looks like a great place to hang out with the neighbors.[p]For what it's worth, you may want to consider going ahead and putting it on a stepping stone. You would be amazed at how hot the bottom of the egg can get. I actually cracked a couple of porcelain tiles, even using the feet, due to the heat. It cracked the tile, then scorched the wood underneath. I would hate for it to scorch your deck.[p]Cheers to you and yours -[p]Mike
