Hiya, everyone,
Hope i can get a quick response on this one.
Where should I put that thermometer in the turkey and what temp do I pull it?
I have a small egg and managed to put/squeeze a 20lb bird in there. It's crazy...

I take this thing out (when there is one to take out) & stick the thermometer in the same place to the same depth, I pull the bird at 165 on the dot

I push mine in all the way until I hit the breast bone and then pull it back about 3/4". Like Zippy, I pull at 165.

Just wondering why you pull the themometer that comes with the Turkey out?
I have always used it
Thanks -
John, that thing is callibrated to pop at somewhere around 180-185, by then, you've got turkey flavored shoe leather

I never thought of that but it does make sense as they want to be on the safe side. However I think I will pull it for now on

yup, but I say safe-side shmafe-side, 165 is juicy & tasty (160 actually kills the harmful little bugs
