used the race car driver hint last night

Last night it was snowing, blowing and cold here in IL so rather than tromp out through those conditions to see where the dome temp stood I remembered the point that the tachs and speedometers in professional race cars are set into the dash in such a fashion that the optimum or desired rpm or speed is when the needle is straight up. Since I have never used that inside metal clip on the thermometer it is easy to turn it so with a quick glance from the warm inside I could see the progress of the temp.
This hint has been around for a while, though I haven't seen it posted for quite some time. I thought some newbies might want to know as it worked great for me!
