My wife insists that she roast the turkey in the oven using her mother's recipe. She is sure that my Egged birds are too juicy to be cooked all the way through, and since we're having company, she doesn't want to make anyone sick.

Really!

She's sure my instant-temp thermometer is a waste of money and just a fad... after all, her mother and grandmother never used one...

Sigh!

Wife-swapping is starting to look more interesting all the time...

  • Weve got two twenty pounders. One will go in the oven and one in the Egg. Some call it compromise  Did I mention there will only be four of us this year. We did the same last year with eight or so and everyone loved the EGG bird. Both were good. See, compromise. If nothing else plenty of leftovers for great turkey sandwiches for a while. Have a great T-day. Gobble Gobble B)

:( not a good way to start the holidays. just enjoy you dinner and all your guests. And try very hard not to think about the juicy, moist, succulent lightly smoke birds we will all be eating :) OH CRAP  I forgot mine is going to be cooked in the kitchen box too.... Hubby won't let me get an XL just for his fat bird. at just over 30 pounds it will not fit in my large :( :pinch: sigh. sniff oh well Julie
