Has anyone with an XL had problems with a crispy side when cooking indirect? The XL placesetter sits very close to the grid. I am thinking radient heat from the placesetter is doing this. Any thoughts or similar problems?

I don't have an XL, I just make sure there is no meat hanging over the plate setter on my large.

Still thinking about that egg tatoo. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Seriously you do great work, I lease to a couple that does body art. Very nice couple and they do good work as well.

I haven't had any issues. For a low and slow I put the platesetter on top of the fire ring, grid on top of that then a drip pan and a smaller grid on top of the drip pan. For cooks 6 hours and under, I put the platesetter between the fire box and fire ring.
