hi, question on small green egg pricing?
hi,
i am finally about to pull the trigger but only if its a good price. i found a dealer that is selling a small green egg for 399. is this right? a co worker of mine told me he purchased the large green egg for ~650 but maybe closer to the bge company the cheaper they are? i am located in NJ.
if this is not a good price, where can i order or pick up>? thanks all.

That sounds like standard retail pricing for the small. I believe the large is 699

That's a decent price. My dealer sells them for $339, but, we're only 100 miles from Atlanta. I'd definitely buy from a local dealer.....

What comes with it? Daisy wheel/stand? Plate setter?

i am almost positive it comes with just the small green egg. the stand is 75$ i think.

Get a price for the small, nest, daisy wheel, grid lifter and ash tool.

Please add the dome thermometer to the list.

There is a local dealer near me that sells the small with no stand or accessories for $399. There is another local dealer who will sell the small for $350. if you ask, as he does not advertise that price. If you live in a cold weather area, those dealers may be willing to make you a good deal to sell one in January, just like the car dealers do.

here in Toronto, Canada, I paid CAD$1000 plus 13% taxes for LBGE in May this year (at that time I think Can$ was at par or higher than US$?). It came with plate setter, daisy, ash tool, nest and a bag of BGE lump. No cover, no side shelves, no grid gripper.canuckland

$399 seems a bit high unless they are throwing in some freebies.

I think part of pricing depends on where you live. I know as a dealer in AZ my cost is much much higher than a dealer in OH due to the extra shipping costs to get it to the distributor in CA. Doesn't help matters that it has to go back east to AZ. I guess a good deal is what is fair in my opinion and as long as their not selling it to you over retail and you feel you're being dealt with fairly and can see yourself going back to that dealer for other items it's a good deal.

if the dome thermometer is not included in the price, or the daisy, i'd seriously give the dealer a little grief. those should NOT be extras any more.ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante

back in March I paid $950 for a large, daisy wheel, grid lifter, ash tool, 20lbs of BGE charcoal, 2 bags of wood chips, nest, tables, plate setter, and pizza stone.
(and the feet which have come in handy for many diff things)
The dealer had some pretty good packages together at many different price pts. I thought this one gave me everything I would want to get started. Of course I WANT more accessories, but this has gotten me through and offered pretty good versatility. I've improvised for raised and multi level grids etc.
Unfortunately they shut down shop and the closest dealer now doesn't carry a lot of accessories. A friend who purchased had to order the platesetter direct from BGE. -
I also forgot fire starters and cover.
