My wife decided that she wanted salmon for dinner, and thought she would cook it inside(since it was getting late).I said "hell no",I can preheat the medium before you can get the salmon ready. The race was on............I ran to the barn for the(new favorite egg lighting device)weedburner :woohoo:

About two minutes later(had to stop for a beer) :woohoo: I was ready to go

I went in to see if she had the fish ready, and I got a surprised look,(I really wasn't ready)"no".Oh well,I'll get another beer, and you just tell me when you're ready

Thanks Mr. Tucky,I love the maple butter recipe, but this was a race  ,and I won :cheer:
All she had to do was put the Ragin River on it,and I still won.......I take that back, she had to take it out of the packaging also
We eat salmon almost every week,it's definitely one of our favorites around here
The 5yr old boy even loves it :woohoo: -
Hey Terry,at least I got my priorities straight
BTW,the camera was on top of the beer fridge in the barn :woohoo: I might have lost if I had to go in the house to get it
-
Couldn't do that on the mini..could ya?
-
Maybe
If I stacked it just right
The mini was in the barn, and,I'm afraid to use the weedburner on it anyway
The flame is bigger the the egg(mini)
I was going for speed,so the medium was my go to guy(grill) -
Hi Doug! Hey, I love the flame thrower  . Is that hooked to a propane tank or is it hooked to one of those Bernzomatic type tanks (those blue ones)? I've been using my small shop vac in blower mode when I need a fast fire but that involves stringing an extension cord. As far as the salmon, I was never much of a salmon fan until I got my BGE and did the DP recipe. My wife usually ordered salmon when we went out to restaurants but since she had salmon on the Egg, she won't eat it in a restaurant anymore. Just one more way I spoil her

What stacking?
I think you're just scared of the mini.

Become one with the power of the mini....have faith in its abilities....reduce your carbon footprint....but just don't light it with the weedburner unless you like the two-tone handle. -
I hear ya Brian,my wife doesn't like salmon anywhere but here anymore. It's some good stuff(if I do say so myself) :woohoo: Anyway, the weedburner is awesome. That was my first time
,but it was cool  Mine is hooked to a 20# propane tank, but I've seen them hooked to the smaller camp bottles. Can't wait to play with it again
-
Where'd you pick it up?(the weedburner-not the salmon)
-
Alright Fidel, next time I'll use the mini(if I'm not racing) :woohoo: In my "houseless smokehouse",I would have to drag the mini out, then the torch, then I would need a beer or three
Before you know it,the race is over :pinch: Once the smokehouse is finished,I'll use the mini more(I promise) :laugh:Especially now that I've got a platesetter and cast iron grid for it :woohoo: -
Hey Brian, one of my buddies picked it for me from Harbor Freight. It was only 20 bucks, definitely worth it :woohoo:
-
Thanks. With a birthday and Christmas coming up, I can put it on the "wishlist". BTW, enjoyed seeing the photos of your smokehouse project over the last few weeks. Always admire you folks that can build stuff.
-
Thank alot buddy,I just wish that I was better, and faster at it
It should be nice when comlete(maybe a year or four)
I'll keep sharing as I progress
-
Thats a swapp. My wife is always trying to figure out how I can do it on the Egg so as not to heat the oven up. You will be sooooo happy when you get the Egg shed done and not have to do all that running.
-
Doug,
Sweet job!

why not just use that weed burner to cook the salmon? They do that at sushi restaurants with a creme brule torch. good idea btw.
i used a leaf blower through the bottom vent and got it boiling hot pretty quick a few weekends ago... like an afterburner. -
Doug, that Salmon looks great, it has always been one of my favorites, but I have never made the DP version (cuz I never had the rub before this weekend). Tonight in between taxi-ing the girl back/forth to dance class I will be stopping into Sam's Club to pick up one of those giant sacks of individually vacuum packed salmon filets, I want to try this dish before the week is donehappy in the hut

Hey Zippy, you won't be disappointed :woohoo: Good stuff man
