Ping Egret - re. Amish Friendship Bread

I'm curious as to your progress in storing the Amish Friendship Bread starter for an extended period. So be sure to let us know how it works for you.
Meanwhile,I Googled Amish Friendship Bread Starter and discovered that it is basically a 'sourdough' starter. I know you make sourdough bread from time to time, so I would assume storage would be similar.
Am I close on my assumption?
By the way, thanks to Kent's generous gift I have managed to put on ten more pounds. I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to put it away for a while.

Hey Leroy,
Per my post from yesterday, I put some in the refrig. in a mason jar just like I do my regular sourdough starter. I also dried a batch and vacuum sealed it. Since I just did this, I don't have any experience at storing it for an extended time......yet!
I'm not sure I understand all I know about this starter. If it were a true "starter" I don't know why you need to add the baking powder. It is a good sweet bread, though, that'll do wonders to your waistline! :woohoo: -
I may make up this next batch and give all of it away, including the 4th bag of starter. Otherwise, I will need larger socks and wardrobe things.
