Sauce question and spare ribs

The wife seems to think this isn't normal... so thought I'd ask the most reasonable group around about sauces. This is normal, right? It's not like they're all open. :laugh:

meanwhile, my first spare ribs are on (3 hours now), and seems like I need a bigger egg for just 2 racks, with all the "spare parts"
