ok...I have searched, and searched, and searched, so hopefully it is not right under my nose...BUT:

Has anyone seen a remote thermometer that could be inserted into the dome that had an alarm that would go off on say both sides of optimum temp.

FOR EXAMPLE: you want to cook a long, low and slow at 225, you could get your egg perfect, set the thermometer, put the receiver by your bed, set the alarms at 215 and 235 and go to sleep (only to be alarmed if things get out of control).

I have seen the fan set-ups, but never anything like this...ANYONE???

  • I like the Maverick ET-73 about $40 on the net.

Dual probe. You can put the pit probe wherever you like. Personally I like at cook level not the dome.

from the Target website: Monitor internal temperature of smoked meats from 100 feet away. Wireless receiver with LCD beeps and flashes when smoked meat temperature goes above your programmed temperature. Monitor smoking chamber temperature. Receiver beeps and flashes if smoking chamber temperature falls out of your programmed range. Does that mean up or down? If so i feel foolish for missing it

    Thank you!!!

i appreciate your help...I just dont think i am ready for a DigiQ 11 YET.
  • No problem at all. It took me a while to get the q2 & then the stoker.

Many, many folk here do long steady cooks without them. I too have done quite a few. I just sleep better now.

I first got the Maverick ET-7, which was against what I was advised here on the forum. Yup, forum folk were correct. I then bought the Maverick ET-73 which I was advised to get in the first place. I love mine and still use it along with the q2.

Post a link for the target unit you are looking at.

Here is a link for the Maverick.
